Neon signs, power cables, dimensions variable
Series of neon signs based on the subject lines of spam e-mails.
Installation
shot, d.u.m.b.o Arts Center, 2006; The neon Long Con differs from the other works in being installed at knee height in a corner with 250m of dummy cable tangled in front of it.
Caklebladder is particularly noteworthy as a spam subject line since it refers to a crude device used by early 20th century con artists as a crude special effect. A small piece of pig's bladder filled with chicken blood, a cacklebladder could be hidden and bitten down on to fake the effects of a gunshot wound or stabbing in order to cause a diversion.
